Royal Hospital Kilmainham

Taken recently in the formal gardens of the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham. Incidentally, this location (though not the garden itself) will be the location for the upcoming Leonard Cohen concert.

Barry Flanagan Hares in Dublin

13 March, 2008 (19:05) | Arts, Dublin, Street Furniture | No comments

This is just a fun photo I took a while ago in Dublin. Thre was an exhibition of Barry Flanagan’s hares from O’Connell Bridge to Parnell Square. This one shows Liberty Hall in the background. The hares are now gone - and Liberty Hall won’t be around for much longer (in its present shape anyway).

Just a quick image taken during a photo session by the Liffey yesterday.
The light was quite good, but most of the time it was freezing outside.

Neary’s Pub - Chatham Street

O’Donoghues Pub in Merrion Row. Note the little green sign above your man on the mobile

The Irish Yeast Co

27 September, 2007 (18:43) | Dublin, Street Furniture, Weddings | No comments

One of the last old shopfronts around the centre of Dublin. Set up in the 1890s and still going.
Apart from selling yeast (surprise), it’s main business is selling wedding cake and icing equipment (as you can see from the window).

Finn’s Hotel

So, this is the first post of another strand which I expect to run through this blog - Street Furniture. I am using this term very broadly - so expect to see signs and shopfronts included in this category.

I was surprised to see this sign still here - albeit, a little faded. The sign is [...]
