Frank Courtney Photography bio picture

Welcome

Hi, my name is Frank Courtney – the owner of this blog. My aim is to complement my main Wedding & Portrait Photography site and show other styles of photography, as well as discussing things of general photographic interest. I’m a full-time professional photographer but apart from my paid work, I take lots of other photos just for my own interest. I’ll also show some of those photos here.

In the future, I will also start posting some preview wedding pictures of the Bride & Groom - with their permission, of course.

Have a look around, and add some comments to the photos/posts..

Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures 2010

The programme for the 2010 festival has now been published. This year it’s earlier than previously (used to be n August) -  July 23-25th.
You can find all the details here :

Dun Laoghaire FOWC 2010

I’ve been going to this ever since it started and have been an occasional volunteer and regular photographer there. It’s always a great festival, and I’m looking forward to going along again this year.

(Update – FOWC 2010 photos added now – click here )

I can’t really have a post without a photo, so here’s some pictures of Dun Laoghaire Harbour taken last night. It was a beautiful clear night, with some lovely light in the sky as the sun set. I didn’t have my tripod with me, so all these are taken handheld (or resting the camera against one something along the pier) :

Sheila @ A Postcard a Day - I must say your photo looks a great deal more attractive than the postcard I had! I am in two minds about the demolished buildings being reinstated. It's always a shame to lose a piece of history, but the view does look very pleasant the way it is.

Robert Mullan - Great pictures Frank

Eric Lagstein - The third shot is stunning.
